A gorgeous, lost-in-the-woods engagement at Retzer Nature Center! This lovable couple hikes this lovely setting with me and together, we made some magic!
The two have known each other for years, but with a bit of an age difference, never really paid much attention to each other. That is, until their moms (who were friends) decide to play matchmaker! The rest is history!
Andrew’s plan to pop the question unfolds on May 25th, 2019. Every year, Samantha’s family takes a trip up north for a long memorial day weekend. That year, Andrew goes with. With her father’s blessing, but no one knowing exactly when the proposal will happen, he’s ready to ask his beautiful girlfriend to spend the rest of their lives together!
He first asks her if she’d like to go for a boat ride around the lake in a small metal skiff. (He cleaned out the dust and bugs just for her! 🙂 )
After they were moving along the water for a bit, she realizes he didn’t bring any fishing poles or tackle. (He always brings his poles and tackle out on the boat every single time…so she lifts an eyebrow to that. But, she writes it off as him knowing she wouldn’t want to sit there and fish the whole time.) It was windy, and were trying to find a calm area to sit. They go from one bay to another bay, which were all busy.
She notices that Andrew is acting very strange, and she laughs, “Why are you acting so damn weird right now?” He insists that he’s not, then asks her to play some music like Dan + Shay. So she does, and feels weirded-out by his vibe, but still has no idea what’s coming.
He keeps messing with his pocket the entire time (he’s struggling to remove his ring in a draw-string pouch). Once he was able to bring it out, he then kneels down in the boat and asks her to marry him! She of course, says yes!
Now, this darling couple plans their gorgeous wedding for next year! Nick and I are so excited to celebrate alongside all your loved ones as you become Mr. & Mrs.!
And that does it for the soon-to-be Landfried’s engagement at Retzer Nature Center! I hope you love this gorgeous, woodsy session as much as I do!
